How to Travel to Another Country When You Have No Idea What Your Doing?

I know what you’re thinking, Who wants to travel during a global pandemic? Well maybe you won’t be hopping on a flight anytime soon, but this does make the perfect time to start planning.
When I turned 18 I knew I wanted to travel but let’s be honest, where do you even start? There are so many articles and videos of young people who are constantly traveling and flying all over the world. Let’s be realistic, this just isn’t possible for most of us who have regular jobs or families. During the past several years I have had the opportunity to travel to many countries by myself and with groups of friends. It can be very intimating to start planning your first international trip. What country do I want to visit? Can I Afford it? Where will I stay? Who will I go with?
Today I’m going to share just a few of my tips for getting into the planning stages of a big trip like this.
1. Where? First you need to decide where you would like to visit. For some people this may be easy, but for others it might take some research. There’s many things to consider when choosing a destination. What kind of food do they have? What is the weather like during the time of year I plan to visit? What kind of activities and sightseeing do they have there? What is the transportation and housing like? Is it safe? All of these are important questions, and this will take some research. I would recommend narrowing it down to a couple choices.
2. When? This is definitely something to give huge consideration. Of course a big factor is when you will be able to take the time off work. Besides that though, there are some other things to consider. Personally, I have visited a couple of countries during the “non-touristy” time of year. Of course this differs from place to place but typically people like to travel when the weather is nice. But if your willing to compromise on ideal weather conditions, you might want to think about traveling during the off season. This will save you money on flights and make sightseeing a bit more enjoyable without huge crowds or long lines. Something to think about.
3. Price. This is obviously a huge factor for most of us. First, figure out how much you have saved and are willing to spend on this trip, and factor…
